Should i exercise on my period?

Yep it’s a period talk.

Working out during your period isn't anyone's idea of a good time. When you're craving a hot water bottle and long nap, protein powder and leg day sound less than appealing.

Many women wonder whether it is okay to work out during their period. The answer is easy: Yes! In fact, you may find that you can be more physically active and at a greater intensity at certain times of the month than at other times.

Still, working out when Auntie Flo is in town isn't just a good idea, it's a great one. Exercise is one of the best scientifically-backed ways to alleviate period-related woes, and can perk up your mood while soothing cramps, bloating, and even fatigue. Researchers have not been able to find any differences during the menstrual cycle in a woman’s ability to exercise.

So, what exercises are the best choices to do while on your period?

Here are a few suggestions:

⭕️Walking: this is an easy exercise that you can incorporate into your day and usually does not require any special equipment, clothing or location. You can adjust your speed to fit your level of discomfort during that time.

⭕️Light cardio or aerobic exercise: This can be a shorter amount of time on the cycle or in the pool, or even a HIIT class but just listen to your body when taking part.

⭕️Strength training: If you are up to it, try some low-volume exercises. Maybe decrease the weight you might normally use.

⭕️Gentle stretch and balancing: this is great for relaxation of the muscles and decreasing cramps and pain.

All in all ladies. Live your best life and listen to your body🦋
